The Garment Winter 2024

Elegance and nostalgia took the runway once more at the Fashion Week of Copenhagen. On January 31st, the Danish brand The Garment released 27 looks for the seasons Autumn and Winter 2024. With a unique approach to the past and an artistic concept, the Copenhagen-based brand unleashed a new way of dressing in the cosmopolitan way of life. Undoubtedly, here you will find the details of The Garment Autumn/Winter 2024.

“Breathing” since 2020, the company is led by Danish designer Charlotte Eskildsen. With 22 years of experience, Charlotte also co-founded another fashion company called “Designers, Remix.” Years later, the skilled designer decided to explore more sophisticated paths in fashion, especially in a sustainable way.

Simultaneously, with a value of taking care of the environment, The Garment is part of the 1% Initiative, which is a philosophy that pledges to contribute 1% of annual sales to non-profit organizations that are dedicated to protecting ecosystems and their wildlife.

The collection

The Garment’s AW24 collection is inspired by the timeless appeal of the iconic 1980 film “American Gigolo.” The sets include styles that involve Richard Gere’s scenes in his sleek black Mercedes 450 SL. At this point, the textile interpretation reveals a pleasant clothing in a symphony of colors. The creative directions are also complemented by Lauren Hutton’s confidence and style in her role as “Michelle” in the movie.

After
Before

In fact, visible hems, rough edges, and a nerdy play between pure and complicated simplicity reveal Charlotte’s signature. Each piece stands independently, is wearable on its own, or can be layered for versatile styling. Surprisingly, in this collection, this personal trait flourished in an elegant way.

Manufactured from recycled leather, wool, and hand-knits, the line features a smaller silhouette that gracefully shows the female form. Classic pieces are revived, such as the rectangular, somewhat too short jacket, the extravagantly long-sleeved turtleneck, and the transparent bubble skirt. Combined with a wide-shouldered, belted leather jacket, each piece allows you to dress up while also expressing your distinctive style.

Moreover, for its latest collection, The Garment stays faithful to its signature off-color palette, exploring tones of coffee highlighted by soft banana, charcoal, black, champagne, and white tones.

Particularly, in accordance with the “less is more” philosophy, The Garment’s AW-24 collection continues its cooperation with the renowned Florence-based Italian leather specialist, Gia Borghini. This season’s connections feature the Derby, which is reminiscent of a classic golf shoe with a distinctive rubber sole; the Mary Jane, which has a stubbed nose and a silhouette heel; and a knee-length, high-heeled boot with front-stitched detailing that highlights the craftsmanship. Furthermore, the pieces are mostly shown in “Moro,” a dark brown and black color palette.
