TG Botanical Winter 2024

On Thursday, February 1st, the TG Botanical Autumn/Winter 2024 collection opened the last day of Copenhagen Fashion Week. The Ukrainian-based company made its third debut at the Nordic fashion show, showcasing its new unique concept for the season. Undeniably, you will find the collection’s details here.

In 2021, Tetyana Chumak, a Ukrainian fashion designer with a green vision and creativeness, established TG Botanical as a fashion label. At first, Tetyana’s love of nature, which grew from her rural beginnings in a household of farmers, served as the main inspiration for creating a sustainable fashion brand. Following the first COVID-19 lockdown in her country, she went back to her origins by creating TG Botanical. As a result, Tetyana’s idea blossomed as a clothing line that combines nature and modern technology.

Markedly, the label focuses on contemporary clothes with a feminine approach. The sets are produced from raw materials like hemp, linen, cotton, and nettle. Furthermore, the clothing is dyed using ancient methods and environmentally friendly materials. In fact, TG Botanical looks into dyeing fabrics with plant colors extracted from tansy flowers, acorns, onion husks, and coffee beans, among others.

The collection

The new TG Botanical Autumn-Winter 2024 collection is inspired by the concept of “māteria,” which the designer considers to be the one and only reality possible that we may sense. In fact, Tetyana Chumak draws inspiration from natural textures, which serve as the foundation for our existence.

The collection focuses on the earth’s various surfaces, particularly the soil, the field seen from above, and the volcanic desert. The designer attempts to replicate these elements in the collection with different materials and distinctive trimming techniques including quilting, distressing, and elastic thread sewing. Surprisingly, these techniques allow the designer to make each garment more tactile and interactive with the wearer’s senses.

By all means, the collection features easy-to-wear separates, textured crochets, bustier dresses, and accessories. Emphatically, the color design is neutral, with a focus on earthy tones. These tones vary between brown, graphite, volcanic gray, and a vibrant splash of light green. As can be seen, the collection offers 26 new looks that combine these ideas of “Materia” in an elegant manner.

The show became TG Botanical’s third presentation at the Runway in Copenhagen. As a matter of fact, due to the essence of the brand and its ethical approach to the war difficulties in its homeland, TG Botanical became one of the three finalists for the Zalando Sustainability Award last year.
