OpéraSport Winter 2025
The winter is back in the north! The capital of Denmark debuted the beginning of the season with the start of the Copenhagen Fashion Week on January 27. This start was led by the Danish fashion house OpéraSport and its collection for the Autumn-Winter 2025 season. Keep reading to find out what has been shown on the runway.
The house was born in 2019 from the duo Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach. The idea behind it was to create a balance point between sophistication, minimalism, and a responsible future. This philosophy and principles came from observing the cosmopolitan French spirit of combining classics and current trends with Copenhagen’s sporting and comfort culture.
As a result, the label’s name mixes the words “Opéra,” which refers to the elegance of the Grand Opera of Paris, and “sports,” which suggests a healthy lifestyle with freedom. This DNA is what makes OpéraSport a worthy host for debuting the season and a good start for 2025.
The collection
The basic idea behind the OpéraSport Autumn/Winter collection is to leave a tribute to the cultural majesty of the royals and the timeless beauty of Art Deco style. This notion is a smooth yet unexpected approach that adds a modern, sophisticated change to the season. The main influence came from the splendor of royal Danish aesthetics. To be more precise, from the powerful geometric shapes found in the royal art and architecture. Furthermore, the collection’s authentic Art Deco-inspired design played a crucial role in its creation.
This season’s features include elevated smooth designs, enlarged tailored suiting, and a more extensive overcoat collection. The special pieces include an oversized jacket and trousers combo, an intriguing asymmetrical blazer with quilted rose embellishments that can be worn in a variety of ways. To help with the atmosphere, the fashion show happened at the historic 400-year-old brewhouse of King Christian IV. The place is home to an extraordinary collection of 300 statues and sculptures, curated from Denmark’s royal gardens, palaces, and buildings.
In terms of visuals, the collection’s color palette exudes opulence that combines with its main idea. The colors that are present are deep royal blue, port royal, burgundy, crème brûlée, classic black, and crisp white. For the founders and designers, Awa and Stephanie, these rich, refined hues infuse each piece with a sense of luxury while maintaining wearability for the cosmopolitan woman.
At last, but not less important, every piece in the collection is crafted from recycled or organic materials. This helps to reinforce the brand’s commitment to responsible fashion. In other words, OpéraSport stuck with its principles and delivered another outstanding ready-to-wear collection that easily fits with the Scandinavian way to enjoy the autumn-winter season.
