On January 31st, the third day of Copenhagen Fashion Week kicked out with the OpéraSPORT Winter 2024 collection. With a genuine combination of comfort, a dynamic lifestyle, and elegance, OpéraSPORT Winter 2024 is a new light on the horizon of the fashion world. Here you will find out about the details of the collection for the seasons of autumn and winter 2024.

OpéraSPORT was founded in 2019 with the primary goal of combining elegance with sports. This concept especially emerged from merging the cosmopolitan French spirit of mixing classics and current trends with Copenhagen’s sporting culture. In fact, the contrast is reflected in the label’s name. The name combines the words “Opéra“, which corresponds to the elegance and arts of the Grand Opera of Paris, and “sports”, which is a word that represents a healthy lifestyle of freedom and comfort.

Stephanie Gundelach, a stylist, and Awa Malina Stelter, a passionate fashion designer, worked together to create the company in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital. Today, both are still the heart of the brand and in charge of the autumn and winter collections of 2024.

The collection

The collection offers 25 looks with 110 clothing combinations and 14 accessories. Furthermore, the set offers sizes from XS to XL, ensuring a versatile and inclusive range of bodies.

At first, the inspiration flourishes from the main essence of the brand. With four years of producing clothing, the collection is a tribute to the path that OpéraSPORT especially chose to follow all these years. This idea is reinforced with the following statement:

"Our collection captures the opulent baroque aesthetic while embracing the functionality of sportswear. It’s a celebration of contrasts, gracefully merging the grandeur of the Opéra with the practicality inherent in sports. Additionally, we’ve meticulously integrated quilts and embroidery inspired by the intricate shapes of baroque architecture."

The color pattern is a celebration of warm tones with vibrant red and deep purple. Moreover, the focus is on functional shape, posture, and feminine elegance. As a result, the collection transitions seamlessly from day to night, featuring extended unisex designs, light, smooth lines, and versatile dresses that celebrate diversity and adaptation.

Most significantly, to support sustainability, the collection includes eco-friendly materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, recycled vegan leather, and recycled wool. Surprisingly, accessories have extended the options. In particular, bags are made of biobased leather created from discarded apple peel. Furthermore, the expanded set of accessories is translated into core styles, enabling season-to-season wear while maintaining a responsible approach.

The fashion show took place at Copehnagne’s Opera House, which helped to emphasize the essence of the tribute that this collection represents for the label.
