Julie de Libran Haute Couture Spring 2025
The haute couture Fashion Week started on January 27 and only lasted 3 days. It seems like a brief time, but it was enough to reveal gems such as the new collection of the French designer Julie de Libran for the Spring/Summer 2025 season. Here you will find all the details about the essence of the new release.
Julie de Libran may not sound familiar, but she is a designer who is marking her legacy in high-end fashion. It all began when Julie, after being born in the French Riviera, moved with her parents to San Diego, California. It was on the famous American west coast that she discovered her passion for fashion. Years later, she moved back to Europe to study fashion at the Marangoni Institute in Milan. From 1991 to 1994, she worked with Gianfranco Ferré, a recognized Italian designer who worked for Dior years before. Julie’s talent was so noticeable that Gianni Versace tried to recruit her as his assistant in 1996. In 1998, Julie joined Prada…
In 2008, Julie decided to move to Paris, where she became the Creative Director for women’s casual collections at Louis Vuitton under Marc Jacobs. Finally, in 2019, after years of working for luxury giants, Julie decided to create her own world of designs by founding Julie de Libran.
The collection
The Julie de Libran Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 is a tribute to fantasy, memories, and tradition. To be more precise, Julie decided to dedicate this collection to plenty of inspirations that flourished among centuries of arts and culture, as well as personal experiences that she had with one of her closer friends, the Canadian actress and model Daylen Haddon. Sadly, Daylen passed away in December of the last year, but her soul is present in this new vision for the season.
The collection features 26 looks, ranging from casual to elegant styles, all showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship and quality of haute couture. In the matter of design, Julie drew significant inspiration from the European medieval aesthetic. An example of this is the laces, which add an unexpected aspect to this medieval picture. Furthermore, the feather Boa (in case you don’t know, Boa is the name for the “feather scarf” used behind the neck) is genuinely reinterpreted as a jacket over coats. As a whole, these highlights add opulence and mystery to the looks, which ultimately create a timeless design.
The color palette is harmonious with the season. Nevertheless, there are no vivid colors or strong contrast, which creates a calm and soft visual impression. Apart from the classical contrast of black and white, the palette includes shades of brown, copper, and navy blue. It’s a realistic approach for the medieval essence of the collection, and it fits perfectly with the cosmopolitan needs.
Ultimately, in the matter of accessories, the chains give the aesthetic appeal of medieval knights. These chains come in various styles, whether embellishing coats with enormous hoods or as belt-like jewelry worn as a vest. The same is true for antique, gilded metal jewelry, which is boldly worn at all levels or directly attached to the garments.
