Gestuz Winter 2024

During the last day of Copenhagen fashion week, the Danish fashion brand Gestuz released its set for the autumn and winter seasons. Here you will find the photos and the details of the Gestuz Autumn/Winter 2024 collection that took the Scandinavian city by storm on February 1st.

The fashion lover Sanne Sehested launched Gestuz in 2008 with the goal of creating a brand influenced by her own vintage vision. The idea was powered by the energy and attitude she believed fashion should provide to individuals.

Aiming to develop designs that highlight women’s strength rather than eclipse it, Gestuz draws influence from older decades and a modern “Rock and Roll lady” to produce pieces that allow for personal expression.

Gestuz has its foundation in the natural comfort of Scandinavian design, while also rebelling against it by deliberately disturbing and altering classic styles.

The collection

The Gestuz Autumn/Winter 2024 collection is titled “Temptation Dance”. The name is behind the desire to dance, celebrate, and live, which is the horizon here. It is the indulgence of a luxury typically reserved for extraordinary occasions in the everyday, and this lifestyle inspired the collection. As a matter of fact, Sanne Sehested reinforced this concept by describing:

“Red lips and leather pieces were some of the first words added to my moodboard when creating this collection. There is a heaviness to the collection, but not in a way that drags you down. It is rather something that grounds you and brings you a feeling of sensual luxury. I saw a dark New York night before me when we created it. At the same time, I wanted to create pieces that could easily transform from day to night. Bringing the luxury whether you are in the office or out at night.”

The collection has a fresh twist on silhouettes, including flared trousers, fitted waists, and micro or extra silhouettes. A mature take on prints, with a darker color palette of brown, deep red, and grey. Deep, abstract, and rather plain. Moreover, the gloom is intensified by delicate, off-white knitwear and lace.

Furthermore, Gestuz Autumn/Winter 2024 uses a variety of textures. Fluffy, woolen textures are complemented by lace and lingerie-inspired motifs, while beautiful embellishments offer an extra dimension of luxury. Heavy leather, coats, and suits are combined with lightweight silk and transparent mesh. All these creations were shown in 35 looks that went through the runway in a disco-style environment.

Finally, Gestuz produced a new set that adds a classic but modern touch to disco nightlife. By not running away from its essence but also embracing the Scandinavian style, Gestuz Winter 2024 is a genuine bet for the season.
