Gestuz Summer 2025
On August 8, during the last day of Copenhagen Fashion Week, the Danish fashion brand Gestuz released its interpretations for the season. This time, the house focuses on the symbolism of an era, and here you will find all the details about the genuine inspiration of the Gestuz Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
In 2008, Sanne Sehested, a fashion lover and pioneer, founded Gestuz with the intention of establishing a brand that reflected her unique vintage vision. She fueled the idea with the energy and attitude she believed fashion should impart to individuals. This way of interpreting the style helped Gestuz to stand out itself among other brands in the Scandinavian fashion scene.
Fundamentally, Gestuz aims to craft designs that accentuate women’s strength instead of diminishing it. This goal is fed with inspiration from historical eras and a contemporary “Rock and Roll lady”. This cultural legacy helps to craft items that facilitate individual expression and autonomy.
Simultaneously, the brand also has its foundation in the natural comfort of Scandinavian design. At the same time, it also actively tries to disrupt and modify classic trends. All these characteristics are present in the releases of the brand, and for the summer season, Gestuz didn’t disappoint.
The collection
In the summer of 1971, the Rolling Stones moved into Villa Nelcote, a Belle Époque villa on the French Riviera. For six months, lavish luxury met rock and roll as they produced their album amid shining chandeliers and golden ceilings. The inspiration for the collection came from that summer filled with rock, glamour, and the women who experienced it. In other words, it was a moment in pop culture where luxury and vintage rock existed in perfect harmony.
The collection featured 35 looks, each incorporating dozens of new items. In these fits, floor-length pearl dresses, washed denim, leather leopard blazers, and 70s silhouettes all were combined in a lovely way for the season.
In terms of design, tight-fitted suits, huge lapels, flowy shirts, pointed shoulders, and flared trousers worthy of Mick Jagger style define 70s menswear and tailoring. Simultaneously, with unmistakable feminine aspects such as floor-length silhouettes, co-ords, and cinched waists, the collection seeks to represent a new take on the 70s glamorous rock goddess.
In terms of colors, the Gestuz Spring/Summer 2025 collection features light blues, neutral earthy tones, and clean whites with drops of deep black and mild yellow. Furthermore, many materials incorporate the 70s-inspired leopard print, which plays an important part in the summer collection. Ultimately, to keep the similarities, the fashion show was held at Copenhagen’s famous Moltke Palace. The 300-year-old palace in Copenhagen’s downtown has echoes of the Belle Époque mansion’s glittering halls, just as the Villa Nelcote, where the Rolling Stones stayed.
