Gabriela Hearst may break up with Chloé

According to the fashion magazine WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) reports, Gabriela Hearst would resign from her position as creative director of Chloé. This may occur in September, after she shows her latest collection for the luxury house.

Hearst’s next collection “spring/summer 2024” for Chloé may her last, and the consensus is that she will leave to focus on her own label “Gabriela Hearst”. This brand was founded in 2015 as eponymous (giving their name to something) of her style.

Hearst was first appointed creative director of Chloé in December 2020. During this short period of time at the French fashion house, she has achieved unique conquers for the brand.

One of the conquers was their sustainability model. Thanks to Gabriela’s efforts in this field, Chloe’s became the first luxury brand to get the highest sustainability grade. This sustainable grade is called B-Corp and only a few fashion brands like Patagonia received the certificate, which recognizes the commitment to sustainability.

She also started a resale initiative and incorporated eco-friendly textiles into the outfits.

Another conquer was the increase in sales of Chloé since her leadership began 3 years ago.

Chloé still didn’t pronounced about the matter.

The designer

The Uruguayan designer, now 46 years old, has become a leading voice in the field of eco-friendly clothing. The “Gabriela Hearst” label she founded already has its own runway show during New York Fashion Week.

Her designs have been worn by celebrities like Selena Gomez, Emma Watson, Demi Moore, Emma Stone, and Anne Hathaway.

Some of Gabriela’s contributions to the Chloé design can be seen here on her first collection for the french house. The collection was for Fall season of 2021.
