Details of Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring 2025
On January 27, the Haute Couture Fashion Week started with the debut of the Summer-Spring 2025 collection of the iconic fashion house Schiaparelli. With a display of 33 dresses in a fashion show full of symbolism and history, the famous house keeps its legacy with its vision for the season. In this post, you will find the looks’ details and the essence of the collection.
Founded in 1927 by the Italian aristocrat and socialite Elsa Schiaparelli, the house became a reference for haute couture during the 30s. With a unique approach in design and a consistent femininity in the collections, Schiaparelli became a legend in high-end fashion. Sadly, the company didn’t survive the Second World War and closed shortly after. However, the brand was revived by Diego Della Valle, chairman of Tod’s, in 2014.
And since then, the house returned to its roots and recovered the legacy that was almost lost forever in time. Nowadays, the house is led by the American fashion designer Daniel Roseberry. Daniel’s careful approach and respect for the history of the brand have given wonderful results, especially in the latest years.
The collection
The Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2025 collection, titled Icarus, pays tribute to the beauty of the past in the present. Daniel got his motivation from an antique boutique in Lyon, France, where they displayed old “vintage” ribbons. These ribbons were manufactured with designs from the 1920s and 1930s, an era that was “forgotten” after WWII. This brief historical retrospective and reflection inspired the creation of the collection.
With that in mind, Daniel designed 33 gowns for the season in an original style. In terms of their design, the creations were influenced by the curved garments and complex embroidery of the 1920s and 1930s. In other words, in an aesthetic pattern from the same period as Lyon’s Ribbons. As a matter of fact, ribbons were attached to the costumes to commemorate this little-known history. In addition, embroidery plays a vital role in resembling the patterns found in that unique era of extravagance.
Moreover, Daniel also looked into the designs of the 1950s. The reason for the inclusion is that the 1950s were known as the “Golden Age” of haute couture. During this period, modernity, art, and symbolism developed from the chaos of the war. Thanks to this approach, Schiaparelli combined plenty of elements to create the new aesthetic. An example of this mix can be seen with the use of corsets (popular in the 1920s) with bows and blazers (popular in the 1950s).
Last but not least, the use of fine resources such as silk, pearls, wool, and cotton emphasized the collection’s refinement. The color palette was split into the three primary colors: black, gold, and white pastel, whose combinations reflected the collection’s “Olympian” aesthetics. Overall, Schiaparelli started the fashion week in a lavish and bright manner, without compromising its roots.
Purchase a piece
Sadly, it is not possible to buy the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2025 collection online. This is because every piece in the collection is produced to meet the needs of every single client. This means that each dress and garment is special by itself. However, you can request the personal service and buy the item if you go to at least one of the eight boutiques.
Schiaparelli, on the other hand, also creates casual collections. In this instance, you can purchase items from the previous collection from their official website. If you’re interested, you can visit the shop by clicking here.
Moreover, Schiaparelli is more than just a luxury clothes brand; the legendary company also makes jewelry and accessories like purses and shoes. Here you can find the accessories and jewelry options.
If you decide to buy an item from their website, here are some details. Schiaparelli’s shipping policy expects that your order will arrive between 2 to 10 business days.
