Christian Dior Resort 2024
The iconic French house led by the Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri revealed on May 20th the collection “Christian Dior Resort 2024”. With vivid colors and a wonderful atmosphere, the new set revealed its inspiration… Frida Kahlo.
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist who, with her art, changed the visual aesthetic of Mexico and Latin America. Feminist and adventurous in exploring the taboos of that time, Frida became the main idea of Dior for the Resort season.
In this collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri collaborated with local artisans. Their talent shines through in their original embroideries, which are co-created with their ateliers and adorn skirts and shirts. Velvet is reintroduced in a stunning color palette on skirts.
The main designs portray Mexican flora and animals alongside parrots, monkeys which also appear in Frida Kahlo’s paintings. Butterflies designs inspired the main accessories.
Black, white, and green were the main colors of the collection, a clear mix between Dior’s main palette and the Mexican aesthetic in the 92 looks revealed.
