CHANEL Haute Couture Spring 2025
On January 28, one of the patrons of the high-end fashion released a new collection to mark an iconic highlight. On this day, the Maison CHANEL showed the new Haute Couture Spring-Summer Collection 2025 to the world. With 55 looks that range from simplicity to tradition, the new sets try to represent the essence of the brand, and here you will find the reason why.
Everything began in 1910 when Gabrielle Chanel, who is popularly known as Coco Chanel, founded her first fashion business by opening a hat store in Paris. Her unique way to create sophisticated accessories helped to create a reputation in the high circles of the French capital. Years passed, and after adventuring in new trends, the fame allowed Gabrielle to found CHANEL Haute Couture in 1915.
But it is not until 1921 that the fashion house changed its fate forever. It was in this year when Gabrielle decided to release its fragrance, CHANEL N°5. At this point, CHANEL’s fame started to trespass national borders and became a symbol of luxury Parisian fashion. On this occasion, the legacy of the house revived with the CHANEL Haute Couture Spring-Summer Collection 2025.
The collection
CHANEL’s new collection is a tribute to the 110 years of the Haute Couture House. This special moment in the house’s history was recreated by its new creative director, Matthieu Blazy. Matthieu is a French-Belgian designer that joined the house at the end of 2024 after the departure of Virginie Viard. The new “fresh blood” in the command of the house has years of experience as a designer for other houses like Celine, Calvin Klein and Bottega Veneta, which was his latest role as creative director.
And of course, since this is his first collection for CHANEL, Matthieu drew upon all his experience to reflect the legacy of 110 years of history. In this collection, comfort is combined with the classic design of CHANEL. In this matter, the famous CHANEL jacket played a central role in the creation of the looks. It doesn’t matter if it was with a dress, skirt or jeans; the jacket steals all the looks on purpose.
The colour palette is very soft and light, with pastel tones that help highlight the accessories. CHANEL is renowned for the use of black and white in its pieces, such as belts and ribbons, and this collection kept that impression alive. The embroidery is delicate, but not striking. The idea behind that creative decision is to keep the sophistication but, at the same time, maintain the quality of the haute couture.
The collection as a whole offered a simple approach to the season, focusing more on being in the comfort zone in the design. The concept delivered is understandable due to the anniversary symbolism and Matthieu Blazy’s first collection. Nevertheless, the new director did an impressive job in keeping the essence with delivering a wonderful collection for the oldest haute couture house.
Purchase a piece
The CHANEL Haute Couture Spring-Summer Collection 2025 is already available in the boutiques. However, haute couture is not made for being on shelves, so every piece is commonly made for each customer. Because of this, you will need to go to an official boutique and schedule an appointment.
