After meeting during their fashion studies at the Parsons School of Design, Mark and James founded Badgley Mischka in 1988. The collection
The idea for the Pre-Fall collection flourished with Mark and James desiring to approach a tropical essence. The duo’s wishes for a warm and paradisiacal lifestyle served as the primary catalyst for their search for new and fresh inspiration. During the creative process, Mark and James observed that a significant number of their friends had relocated to Mexico. Thanks to these personal situations, Mark and James decided to explore the Mexican culture and beauties.
And it was with the 1964 film “The Night of the Iguana” that Badgley Mischka Pre-Fall 2025 is inspired by. The drama movie, set in Mexico, provided the perfect inspiration for the Mexican fantasy that the duo had been searching for. The movie aesthetically presents a blend of an elegant lifestyle and a fresh tropical environment.
In the matter of design, the collection relies on a simple yet glamorous craft. The style of these items incorporates floral patterns and geometrical symmetries. With the floral patterns, stamping and embroidery play a crucial role in most of the looks. The use of fabric belts adds a nice touch and practicality to the dresses, while the large pockets add a vintage touch from the 1960s.
