Backstage of Saint Laurent Summer 2026

For Yves Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2026 show, the house invited a range of globally important artists and celebrities from cinema, music, and the art world to witness the season’s lineup of 50 ready-to-wear looks.

Social media has become an essential tool for European luxury brands to reach and engage with a larger audience worldwide, playing an important role in attracting new consumers, particularly in East Asia. For example, nearly 25% of worldwide luxury sales happen in China alone, while South Korea is known as the highest consumer of luxury fashion globally.

Saint Laurent, as expected, did not lag behind in this trend, inviting personalities from both South Korea and China to its spring/summer 2026 show, as well as celebrities from other parts of the region. Names like Chinese actress Song Jia and South Korean singer-songwriter Rosé, from the K-pop group Blackpink, were among the crowd who got to watch YSL’s collection, showcased by the Eiffel Tower, up close.

Anthony Vaccarello, the French maison’s creative director, clearly intended to transcend national borders, as evidenced by the show’s guest list. Yet, the YSL audience, known as one of the most exclusive invites of every season, focused more on major stars who are considered friends of the house.

In a recent Vogue interview, Vaccarello acknowledged that he didn’t want digital influencers to go to his shows, but “real celebrities who have a real thing.” This approach differs completely from other brands that try to rely exclusively on influencers and content creators to reach a specific audience, especially when the goal is to attract the younger generations of prospective consumers.

At the summer 2026 show, actors Charlotte Rampling, Renée Zellweger, and Zoë Kravitz made an appearance. Madonna also attended the show with her daughter Lourdes Leon, as well as supermodel Kate Moss, Hailey Bieber, and singer-songwriter Charli XCX.

Nowadays, Saint Laurent is much more than a fashion house, with its brand identity deeply connected to contemporary culture. To expand the label’s universe and relevance beyond fashion, Vaccarello established Saint Laurent Productions in 2023, a film production company that works collaboratively with prominent names in the cinematic world.
